Vale Reserves turned on another good performance at
Vale Park last night to beat LeicesterCity and now sit 4th in the Pontins League table, two points behind Coventry who are in second spot.Vale had two trialists on show again, in defender Dan Smith and striker Steve Thompson - a third trialist, Rob Taylor, who plaed in Vale's last match against HuddersfieldTown will line up against Oldham a week on Wednesday.
Thompson, and 18 year old from Middlesbrough, looks to be making the most of his chance, netting for the second time in six days with a goal that got the home crowd buzzing.
Chris Martin showed why is so highly rated at the club with a superb display between the sticks, and Danny Edwards - a recent addition to the first team squad - also showed why Lee Sinnott has been keeping a close eye on him.
The visitors did pull a goal back, but James Lawrie wrapped up the points for Vale to seal the three points and their third win in three games.
