SUPPORTERS CLUB
The Port Vale supporters group will be hosting their next meeting on Wednesday 7th May, following the success of their launch meeting last month. The event will be starting at 7:30pm and will be held in the club restaurant in the Lorne Street stand. The bar will be open and admission will be free. All are welcome, whether you are a member of the supporters group or not. Membership is free and membership forms will be available on the night should you wish to join.
The evening will also feature a special guest speaker, youth and reserve team manager Andy Porter. As one half of the successful management team in charge of the reserve and youth set up, Goober has been an integral part of the successful development of many of our younger players, and as shown at the Player of the Year awards, he has a fantastic sense of humour. So his speech promises to be both funny and entertaining.
Additionally, the group will have many other guest speakers at the evening. Club director Graham Mudie will be there to update the group on events at the club, while there will also be representatives from many of the other groups associated with the Vale, including the Football in the Community scheme, Valiants against Racism, the Sproson Fund and the Vale Volunteers Group. These are groups who the supporters group wish to work with for the good of Port Vale.
Members of the supporters group committee will also be there to speak to fans about what is happening in the group, and provide updates on the latest campaigns that the group are conducting in order to help Vale grow both on and off the pitch. The group are also inviting people who think they have something to offer to join the committee. If you support the objectives of the group and feel you have something to offer, then speak to one of the committee at the evening.
The supporters group is an open and democratic organisation. All are welcome to come along and get involved, regardless of views or opinions. The more people that join, the larger the voice the supporters group will have and the more successful the group can be. So feel free to come down to the meeting, and invite your friends and family too. The more the merrier.
